History was made this past year as the first female vice president, Kamala Harris, took her place in office at the White House.

Having the first female Vice President of the United States is an important step forward for women and young girls everywhere, and something to be celebrated. But preschool teacher and children’s book author Ana Maria Medici wants young girls to continue dreaming even bigger than second in command – what if a woman became the actual president?

This idea is the inspiration behind a new children's book, Dear Mrs. President. The book is aimed at ages 3 to 7, written from the perspective of a child's letter to the future first female President of the United States. The letter then becomes a symbol of hope and roughing tribute to all female leaders everywhere.

Medici says Dear Mrs. President is meant to encourage kids to reach further, and dream greater.

Beyond the book, Medici also has given parents something tangible to help them teach their little ones about the importance of having the first female Vice President in office. She created a free PDF download that guides kids through writing a letter to Vice President Harris and helps parents start meaningful conversations about what this means for women everywhere.
