JENISON, Mich. — Sue Prins is paying it forward and asking for help to spread joy to local patients in hospitals and long-term healthcare facilities in West Michigan during the pandemic.

Prins founded We Care Cards and is on a mission to brighten the spirits of those dealing with loneliness. She says the mother/daughter duo pictured above made around 200 cards in a two-week time frame, but there's always a need for more community involvement.

Many cards have already been delivered, but Sue says they're working on getting as many cards made and for patients at DeVos Children's Hospital through next week. Sue and her organization hope to get enough cards for every patient in the children's hospital.

Once that mission is complete, cards will be made and delivered to the next healthcare facility.

If you would like to participate, here's a look at the rules:

  • Anyone and everyone can help
  • All cards get quarantined by the hospital
  • Handmade is nice but not necessary
  • No religious or "Get Well" wording. These could get eliminated (per hospital rules).

You can mail the cards to:

We Care Cards

The drop off location is the same address; place the cards in the blue bag inside the entrance.
