GRAND RAPIDS — How about learning some science with a puking pumpkin! This experiment we will see a classic chemical reaction and set your families up to work on our scientific hypothesis. Watch the video for step by step instructions. These are the materials you need to get started.

-carved pumpkin
-baking soda
-vinegar
-food coloring
-dish soap
-foil pan

Now we have a puking pumpkin! It’s a classic chemical reaction with the vinegar and baking soda combining to create carbon dioxide bubbles. You can even work on creating your scientific hypothesis and see what you think will happen if you try this experiment without adding the dish soap to our mixture or using lemon juice instead of vinegar. A fun way to make a mess and learn some science heading into Halloween! Have fun!
