GRAND RAPIDS — West Michigan woke up to plenty of sunshine on this Sunday morning. We will warm up once again working temperatures back into the 80s.
Today and just about each and every day this week we will have mostly sunny days. This means our UV index is high and the burn time is about 15 minutes. Make sure to remember your sunscreen and reapply throughout the day.
Moving forward in the week the heat will continue as we will push 90 degrees several times. If we get 3 or more consecutive days at or above the 90 degree mark we will officially be in a heatwave. It looks that the heat could even possibly push into next week. Our longest heatwave in West Michigan was 11 days back in 1901.
Stay cool and hydrated this week! We have Monday and Tuesday evening with very minor rain chances. I think if we see any rain it will be more south or even south out of our viewing area. Plan on mainly dry conditions those two days and all week long.
