Michigan reported 252 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, a slight decrease from several consecutive days of an uptick in cases. There were also five new deaths reported.
According to the state, there are now 63,261 total cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak began and 5,912 deaths.
On Friday, the state reported 389 new cases of the virus and 353 new cases on Thursday. These numbers were the highest since May 31, when there were 513 new cases.
The number of recoveries is around 51,000, and that number will be updated weekly on Saturday.
According to the COVID Act Now map, Michigan is no longer on track to contain the virus, and is instead in the "controlled disease growth" area. "COVID in Michigan is spreading in a slow and controlled fashion," the website said.
