GRAND RAPIDS — Starting May 8, a marijuana home delivery service begins in Grand Rapids and surrounding areas.

Freddie's Joint only plans to make deliveries on Fridays, and you'll need to place orders at least two days in advance.

the company, which is based in Genessee County, says this is the first marijuana shop to offer this level of service for home delivery to customers in many parts of the state.

"So, our shopping portal, through our website, requires that a person or customer initiating requests for delivery has to put in a scanned image of their state ID," said general manager, Brett Stephens. "Then we verify that on our end, and then we deliver. That's the first step of verification when we deliver as well."

Customers will be able to choose from a variety of different products.
