GRAND RAPIDS — Police say they arrested a male suspect after an early morning standoff in Grand Rapids.
Police were investigating a shooting on Franklin Street around 2 a.m. when they heard gunshots nearby. When they responded an unidentified male ran from the scene to his family's home on Watkin Street SE.
Authorities say they surrounded the home and were able to get the rest of the family out through windows and a rear door. After a 30 minute standoff the suspect was taken into custody.
Police recovered a firearm from the home and the incident is still under investigation.
