GRAND RAPIDS — West Michigan seeing some scattered showers and storms to kick off Sunday. Heavy downpours, gusty winds and plenty of lightning and thunder can be seen in these storms which will be leaving the area by the early afternoon time frame. Slowly we will clear out and dry out later on working temperatures towards the middle 80s with high humidity.
We will get a break from the oppressive humidity come Monday. Very quickly the sticky dew points will come back by middle to end of this week.
We will have breezy winds all day on Sunday making Lake Michigan not a safe place to be. Red flags will be flying with a high beach hazard risk and small craft advisories in place. Stay out of the water and off the piers if along the lakeshore.
We remain in the 80s this week with our next shower and storm chances arriving late on Tuesday continuing overnight into Wednesday.
