GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Community College released a statement to the media early Monday evening announcing the contract termination of Timothy Koets, a former professor who was charged with the murder of his autistic son.
"Mr. Koets is no longer employed by Grand Rapids Community College. He was terminated effective January 28, 2020. It would be inappropriate at this time to discuss additional details about his departure due to an ongoing criminal investigation."
On Friday, Oct. 25, Timothy Koets was charged with manslaughter and child abuse after his son was found unresponsive in the family’s pool back in March.
The investigation of Koets is still ongoing.
