BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The police officer shot during the Thanksgiving weekend, getting some financial assistance from the community.
The Battle Creek Community Foundation has set up a donation fund to support Officer Jeffrey Johnson and his family.
In a Facebook post Wednesday morning, the police department told fans to send money to the BCCF fund, because 100-percent of the money will go to the Johnsons.
Officer Johnson was hit by 3 bullets during a call for a domestic disturbance.
The suspect in the shooting is in custody.
