PORTAGE, Mich. — A person died and another was critically injured Wednesday in a head-on crash in Portage.
Portage police say the crash happened in the 9100 block of S. Sprinkle Road when a northbound pick-up truck crossed the center line and collided with a southbound vehicle.
The southbound vehicle left the road and went into a nearby swamp. The female driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Her name was not released.
The driver of the pick-up truck was critically injured.
The road was closed for several hours after the crash but has since reopened.
