DETROIT, Mich. — Charges against the suspect in the killing of Wayne State University police officer Collin Rose will likely be dropped, sources tell FOX 2 in Detroit.
FOX 2 is reporting that Detroit Police don’t have enough evidence on DeAngelo Davis in the murder.
Police arrested him shortly after learning that Officer Rose had been shot in the head while investigating thefts near the school’s campus on November 22.
Rose died less than 24 hours later. He was originally from the Kalamazoo area and was engaged to be married. He was a 5-year veteran of the force.
A press conference is scheduled Wednesday morning at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, where the charges are expected to be formally dropped, according to FOX 2.
