Dehumidifier recall expands following 450 fires, $19 million in damage

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of millions of dehumidifiers sold under a variety of brand names this week.

Below is the information on this particular recall.

Recalled dehumidifier

Gree dehumidifiers – The dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke and catch fire, posing serious fire and burn hazards to consumers. 450 fires have been reported, causing an estimated $19 million in property damage. About 2.5 million units across several brand names — including Frigidaire and Kenmore — are impacted. Full refunds are available.
