GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The victim of a shooting in Grand Rapids over the weekend has been identified.

Gregory Lee Rogers, 35, was found in his apartment in the 300 block of Straight Avenue NW Sunday afternoon with a gunshot wound.  He later died at the hospital.

“At this point we’re looking at it as a death investigation, we are looking at it from all angles,” Sgt. Terry Dixon with the Grand Rapids Police Department told reporters on scene Sunday afternoon.

Dixon could not definitively say the shooting was a homicide after initially classifying it as such. He also did not rule out the possibility the gunshot was self inflicted.

No suspects have been identified or taken into custody, he said.

Police are still investigating.  Anyone with information should contact GRPD at 616-456-3400 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
