The Fox 17 Morning Mix's "I Will Get Fit" Challenge is nearly half over, and all of our contestants are continuing to work hard and improve their health at Fit Body Boot Camps across West Michigan.
Derek Sterling, our fourth challenger, is about halfway through his training at North Muskegon Fit Body Boot Camp with his trainer, Brian Johnson.
Derek's biggest improvement since starting workouts at Fit Body Boot camp is his endurance. He's been able to work out for longer periods of time, improved his strength, and is moving faster than he could before.
Since Derek started working out, he says he feels better during the day. He even changed his diet to include lower fat foods, high proteins, low carbs, and eating often in small portions throughout the day.
Leigh Ann went to check in on Derek and do a quick workout with him.
Often Fit Body Boot Camp gets a bad reputation because of including "boot camp" in the name. Classes are between 30 to 40 minutes long, so anybody can fit in a quick workout during the day.
Workouts are also high intensity, so they're designed to burn body fat and build muscle. Even if the exercises are modified, you'll still work with all the same muscles as the regular workout, but at a lower intensity.
Trainers at Fit Body Boot Camp encourage first timers to try their three day free trial. The workout may look intimidating at first, but once you finish you'll want to come back!
North Muskegon Fit Body Boot Camp is located at 1887 Holton Road in Suite 1. To schedule an appointment with them, call (231) 375-8660.
