LA GRANGE TWP., Mich. – A Cass County Sheriff K-9 caught up to a domestic violence suspect hiding in the woods Sunday afternoon.
Cass County deputies were called to Oak Grove Road Sunday on reports of an assault in progress. There, they were told that the suspect had run from the scene. K-9 officer Faust and his handler Deputy Dave Nevins tracked the suspect for about an hour in swampy wooded areas before Faust found the suspect over a mile and a half from where the track started.
The 31-year-old Cassopolis man surrendered to deputies and is being held on domestic violence charges. The victim was hospitalized for her injuries.
