NEWAYGO, Mich. – A woman will stand trial for allegedly killing her husband in May of 2015.

At a competency hearing Wednesday morning, a judge ruled that Glenna Duram is competent to stand trial for allegedly killing her husband Marty at their home near Sand Lake.  Her preliminary hearing will take place in December.

Documents released in October 2015 told how the couple argued frequently and gambling debts may have played a factor in the disputes.  Investigators say that Glenna killed Marty and then tried to take her own life.  She was seriously wounded and was hospitalized off and on for the past several months.

In June 2016, Marty’s ex-wife Christine Keller told FOX 17 that she was now caring for Marty’s pet parrot Bud, and that the parrot had been mimicking some of the sounds of the night of the murder.
