GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A delivery truck spilled loads of laundry carts loaded with sheets and other medical laundry along 28th Street in Grand Rapids early Friday morning.
The mishap occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. in the area of 28th Street and Division Avenue.
Police say a delivery truck driver must have failed to secure the trailer's door, because huge amounts of laundry carts and bags started spilling out of it, and onto the pavement.
We spoke with workers at a nearby gas station, who say they saw the carts falling from the back of the trailer. They stepped up to help clear the mess from the road.
One lane of westbound 28th Street remained closed until 6:40 a.m. as the cleanup was completed.
