GREENVILLE, Mich. -- While most high school teams consists of upwards of ten players, the Greenville High School equestrian team is a tiny team of two, but they are mighty.
Rylie Croy and Shannon Carey have earned their nickname "The Dynamic Duo."
They compete together all year long in both high school equestrian shows and open shows around the state. The start of the duo's junior year of high school showing was rocky to say the least, maintaining last or second to last place. However, their status changed when it came time for the speed events.
The two have been competing together in speed classes for the past two years, so when it came down to the two-man relay at state the girls had the win in the bag.
“Our last event on Sunday morning at state was a speed event that we have done for the last two years together and it was our best event. That's what brought us up to win it," said Rylie Croy.
There is some competition between the two, but Shannon Carey says, "We show all summer long together, we’re competitive, but if she beats me I’m not going to be mad and if I beat her we’re still friends. We are pretty supportive of each other."
