GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Football Club is adding a women’s team for 2017.

The soccer club will be adding a team for the 2017 season for the newly formed Midwest Division of the United Women’s Soccer League.

Information on coaching staff, home field location and schedule will be released at a later time.

Grand Rapids FC President Matt Roberts said in a press release that the new team will help their objectives of growing the game in West Michigan by giving young female players an opportunity to watch and learn from top college and post-college players.

The women’s games will be added to the 2017 season ticket package of Grand Rapids FC at no extra cost.  A 2017 season ticket will now be good for 10 men’s games and five women’s games.
