CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police in Kent County say they are questioning at least one suspect accused of assaulting a man during a road rage incident, leaving the victim in critical condition late Thursday night.

The call came in for an unknown accident on Whitneyville Avenue in Caledonia Township shortly before 9:00 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found a 64-year-old man who had been severely beaten. He was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.

Police were able to talk to witnesses, who say the victim had been assaulted by upwards of three suspects, the result of a road rage incident. They said the three young men involved left the scene on a dirt bike and a quad.

Deputies then started canvassing the nearby area, going door to door. They developed a possible suspect on 52nd Street.  That individual was taken in for questioning, while police located the motorcycle, quad, and evidence from the original scene.

So far, detectives are only questioning the suspect. There are no arrests at this time.
