GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The victim of a shooting is expected to survive, as police in Grand Rapids try to find whomever pulled the trigger.

The shooting happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Kalamazoo Ave. near Franklin St. SE. It is not clear what led up to the shots being fired, but police say a male victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses gave differing accounts of what may have occurred, making it difficult for police to identify a suspect or determine how everything started.
