With the apple crop being so generous this year, what better way to celebrate than with the Michigan Apple Fest?
On Saturday, September 24 in downtown Sparta, learn about all the great treats and dishes you can make with Michigan grown apples.
The apple fest will feature a street comedy show, cider tasting, glass blowing demos, an apple pie eating contest, a honey bee educational seminar, and a couch race. New this year, there will be a sling shot contest, where you can aim apples at targets.
There's plenty for kids to do at the festival too. The apple fest will have a kiddie carnival, a petting zoo, hands on apple art, and Johnny Appleseed storytelling.
