PAW PAW, Mich. -- At least one person died in a crash on I-94 that closed the eastbound lanes of the highway at M-40 in Van Buren County.
The crash, between a van and a semi, was first reported around 9:30 a.m. on eastbound I-94 at mile 62, which is two miles beyond the Paw Paw exit at M-40.
The westbound van crossed over onto the eastbound lanes and hit the eastbound semi, said Michigan State Police Lt. Dale Hinz.
The eastbound lanes of I-94 were closed at M-40, and traffic backed up as all vehicles were routed off the highway. One lane has reopened.
