Playground dedicated at Holland State Park

New playground at Holland State Park

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Kids visiting the Holland State Park have a new playground.

The new playground was dedicated Wednesday on the beach.  The project started with one woman who wanted a place for her grandkids to play when they couldn't go in the water.  That led to a crowd-funding effort that raised the needed money in five days.  Then, Carter's Kids, a non-profit founded by Carter Oosterhouse and Amy Smart, and some other groups, built the playground.

The playground is built to last around 30 years.
