GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It will now be easier to hail a cab in downtown Grand Rapids.
The city unveiled two 24-hour taxi zones, as well as three others that will operate from 5:00pm to 3:00am daily.
The new direction for the city is a result of recommendation from a Ground Transportation Steering Committee which includes Experience Grand Rapids, Downtown Grand Rapids, Inc., and others.
Before the addition of the stands, cabs could not sit in loading zones waiting to be hailed. Now they will be able to stage in these locations and people can find a cab for a ride without having to call the cab company.
The 24 hour locations are:
- DeVos Place
- Founders Brewery
The 5:00pm – 3:00am locations are:
- Rosa Parks Circle
- Heartside Arena District
- JW Marriott
