Food trucks could be setting up shop in downtown Grand Rapids

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Downtown Grand Rapids, Inc. announced Friday morning that they are in support of a new ordinance that would allow food truck businesses to set up shop on public property in the City of Grand Rapids.

As of now, food trucks are only allowed to set up in the city on a limited basis at special events in public places and private property... as well as specific permitted instances.

The proposed ordinance will be discussed at the City Commission meeting on July 12th.  It will be decided there if a public hearing will be set on July 26th. That hearing would give residents the opportunity to comment on the ordinance in a formal setting.
