ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Police arrested a California woman after she allegedly left her infant child in a hot car before passing out on the ground nearby.
Officers and paramedics responded to the car on Modessa Court in Roseville shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to KTXL. The baby was taken to the hospital with heat sickness for treatment before being handed over to Child Protective Services, according to authorities.
Police say the baby’s mother, 43-year-old Stephanie Lynn Chiaratti, was sleeping on the ground next to the car, and appeared to be intoxicated.
Police say she fought with and threatened officers before she was ultimately arrested.
Chiaratti was booked on charges of willful cruelty to a child, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.
