ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two riders were injured when their motorcycle struck a car Saturday night on Lake Michigan Drive.

At 10:42 p.m. Saturday, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident with injuries on Lake Michigan Drive near 104th Avenue in Robinson Township. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found two injured people who had been riding a motorcycle.

They were transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where both were listed in stable condition Sunday.

The investigation showed that the motorcycle was traveling on Lake Michigan Drive when a car slowed to turn and a truck passed the car on the right and threw up a cloud of dust. The motorcyclists couldn’t see through the dust, the motorcycle hit the car and both riders were thrown from the motorcycle.

Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

Deputies said alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
