Good morning!  I know many of you are probably struggling to get motivated after a long weekend, and the temperatures are certainly not helping with that.

It’s already in the low 70s this morning, and we’re well on our way to highs in the mid 80s later on.

It’s much cooler in the northern half of the state, specifically where many of you vacationed this weekend.  We’ve got an easterly breeze that will switch around tomorrow as our weather changes.  That cold frontal system will be responsible for slightly milder temps, and thunderstorms arriving tomorrow afternoon.

A snapshot of Future Track HD tomorrow at noon shows a line of rain is forecast to develop, and it’s going to be fairly widespread throughout West Michigan.  I would expect mostly rain with a few thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center currently holds us in a “Marginal” risk for severe weather.  Gusty winds and small hail would be the primary threats, however this will be an isolated issue for most.

CPC TEMP TRENDS

If you think it’s been a bit too warm and humid too soon, you’ll like the extended outlook.  Temperatures are trending downward, with the Climate Prediction Center including us in a 50% chance of seeing below average temperature for the first couple weeks of June.  Our average highs right now range in the mid 70s, so we’d expect to be cooler than that for a few days.  What do you think about the change of pace?  I personally like the heat (sans humidity,) but that’s because I lived in the desert for three years.  Hope your finish to the month is great!  See you in the morning!
