WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama and family will be heading for new digs come 2017, but they won’t be leaving the District of Columbia.

The Obamas will be leasing a mansion that was owned by President Clinton’s Press Secretary Joe Lockhart, and his wife, Giovanna Gray, Politico reported first.

In early March, President Obama revealed he wouldn’t be moving far from the White House so that Sasha could finish high school at Sidwell Friends, a private school close to the new family home. She will be a sophomore next January.

The new house is a nine-bedroom brick mansion in a tony Kalorama neighborhood near Embassy Row. Zillow data shows that the home sold for $5,295,000 in May of 2014.
