KALAMAZOO, Mich. — One of survivors from February’s mass shooting spree in Kalamazoo posted a picture of herself and her scarred arm.

Tiana Carruthers posted the photo Thursday with following caption:

“LOOK ME IN MY EYES AN TRY TO FEEL MY PAIN SCARED FOR LIFE BUT AT LEAST I STILL HAVE MINES AN I THANK THE ALMIGHTY FOR THAT”

On Feb. 20, investigators say Carruthers was shot several times while shielding children from gunfire at the Meadows Townhomes in Richland Township.

Carruthers was the first to be shot that night. Later, the same shooter went to the Seelye Kia dealership in Kalamazoo. There, father and son Richard and Tyler Smith were shot and killed.

After, the shooter traveled to the Cracker Barrel in Kalamazoo. There, Mary Lou Nye, Barbara Hawthorne, Mary Jo Nye, and 14-year-old Abigail Kopf were gunned down. Kopf was the only one to survive, albeit with serious injuries.

Kopf also continues to recover.

The self-professed shooter, Jason Dalton, appeared in court last week for a probable cause hearing. He was ordered to stand trial on several murder and attempted murder charges in connection to the mass shooting.
