DETROIT (AP) — Police say a 3-month-old girl has been found safe after her father reported a car with her inside was stolen after he left it running outside a Detroit liquor and drug store.
Police say the man told investigators he left Dakota Grimes sleeping in the back seat about 1 a.m. Monday on the city’s east side and found the car and the girl missing when he went back outside.
An Amber Alert was issued Monday morning for the girl. Shortly after the alert was broadcast the child was reported found in a car seat on a home’s porch.
The car wasn’t found along with the child. Police say the car is a white 2006 Chevrolet Impala with a Michigan license plate CPG8598.
