MICHIGAN -- The Amber Alert for the missing 7-year-old and her mother from the Detroit-area has been lifted, according police in Hamburg.
Hamburg Police wrote on their Facebook page that Sapphire Palmer, 7, and her mother, Amanda Hayward, were found safe in Florida.
The pair were not with registered sex offender Douglas Steven Stanko when they were found. Police say he left the area prior to their arrival.
Sapphire was taken into protective custody of Florida Child Protective Services by court order.
Police said when the Amber alert was issued the pair was last seen in Brighton.
