KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A serious crash in Plainfield Township sent a man to the hospital after his car rear-ended a semi-tractor trailer.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Department reports they were called about the incident around 5 pm Monday. They say a 20-year-old Plainfield man was traveling south on Jupiter Avenue near Coit Avenue when his Ford Taurus collided into the rear of a semi.
The driver of the Taurus had to be extricated by the Plainfield Fire Department and taken to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. Deputies say he suffered serious, life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
