Ottawa County Sheriff offering free active shooter training

Posted

WEST OLIVE, Mich. –  We have been taught from when we were young on how to respond to disastrous situations. But do you know what to do when there is an active shooter near you?

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is offering citizens the chance to be trained on active shooter situations with their free Citizen Response Active Shooter Events training on May 25 in West Olive. The Sheriff’s Office hopes that this training will prepare citizens with strategies, guidance and proven plans on how to survive active shooter situations anywhere you are.

The training will be held from 6-9p.m. at the Ottawa County Fillmore Administrative  Building’s main conference room on 12220 Fillmore Street in West Olive.

Registration is required in order to attend the event and space is limited. You must be 18 or older to participate.
