“This guy worries me;” Manistee police chief warns public of inmate’s release

MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich. — The Manistee city police chief issued a public notice on his Facebook page warning residents of an inmate about to be released.

Kenneth Cudd, 48, is set to be released from prison Saturday, April 30. He will have served two years behind bars on two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving children under the age of 13 in 2011.

Manistee Police Chief David Bachman said in a public statement that as soon as Cudd registers as a sex offender, he will post his address and Cudd’s restrictions. Bachman wrote that despite not being able to comment on Cudd’s potential to re-offend, he stated: “this guy worries me.”

The warning was issued on Bachman’s dedicated Manistee County Sheriff election page.
