IONIA COUNTY, Mich. — The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious situation, in which two children reported a man approached them and asked if they needed a ride home.

It happened Monday evening at the Evergreen Mobile Home Park on N. State Rd.  Police say two kids were playing on the playground when a white male subject, roughly 40-50 years old and driving a tan van, approached them and asked if they wanted a ride.  When they declined, the children reported he then asked if they wanted him to follow them home.  The children then ran away.

They describe the suspect as white, balding with a goatee, thin in build, and a deep voice.  His vehicle is described as a tan work van with a dent on the rear driver’s side, with black tape over the rear taillight.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office at 616-527-5737.
