TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — A border collie who works at the Traverse City airport is making headlines once again.
Piper works for the Cherry Capitol Airport. He keeps birds and other small animals off of the runway ensuring safety for the airport’s planes and passengers.
Recently, Piper was entered in a U.S. Coast Guard photo contest called “Shutter Shootout Photo of the Year.”
Piper was announced as the winner Tuesday afternoon on the Coast Guard’s Facebook page, beating out a picture of a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter flying in front of the U.S. Coast Guard barque Eagle in the Atlantic Ocean.
We were able to catch up with Piper and his owner last month. Click herefor a look at that story.
