Muskegon looks to highlight opportunities at the port

MUSKEGON, Mich. - The City of Muskegon is planning a "Port Day" this summer to show off its shipping potential.

Officials in Muskegon are hoping to get more ships to come into the dock.  It is 80 feet deep and can handle almost any sized ship including freighters, fishing vessels or cruise ships.

Starting in June, a Great Lakes cruise shop will be stopping in Muskegon.

The Muskegon County Port Advisory Committee hopes to have Port Day on July 26.
