GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A massage therapist could spend 15 years in prison after being charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct, 3rd degree after allegedly assaulting a victim during a therapy session.

John Ashby, 54, is accused of assaulting a 41-year-old victim during massage treatment on February 28th at the Massage Green Spa in the 3500 block of 28th Street SE.  Grand Rapids Police say that Ashby was a private contractor and may have worked at other spas in the Grand Rapids and Kent County area.

After the victim reported the issue, police investigated and the Kent County Prosecutor issued the arrest warrant on Wednesday.  Ashby was arrested at his home Thursday.

Bond for Ashby was set at $40,000.  He will next be in court on April 7.
