Armadillo found dead along West Michigan roadway

Posted

LAKETOWN TWP., Mich. – You see roadkill everywhere, especially in the spring, but one Holland man had an interesting find Sunday.

While driving along 66th Street in Laketown Township, Trevor Barnhill spotted the dead armadillo and turned his car around to check it out.  He sent us the attached picture.

FOX 17 spoke with the DNR Monday and they say that there is not a population of them in Michigan.  They say the animal would survive the Michigan winter.

They believe that the armadillo may have been a pet that got loose or was a road kill from a different state and then tossed here in West Michigan as a joke.
