2 injured in motorcycle crash

POKAGON TOWNSHIP, Mich.— One man is in critical condition and a woman has minor injuries following a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon.

Deputies responded to the crash around 2:10 at the intersection of M-51 and Peavine Street.

Deputies say 16-year-old Alexis Chorba was waiting at the intersection to turn onto M51.  She didn’t see the motorcycle driving down M51, driven by 34-year-old Niles resident Troy Duis, and continued to drive into the intersection.

Duis couldn’t avoid Chorba and crashed into her vehicle.

Duis was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical, but stable condition.

Chorba was also taken to a nearby hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

Deputies say Duis wasn’t wearing a helmet and  believe Chorba was wearing her seat belt.

It’s unknown if alcohol was involved in the crash.

The case remains under investigation.
