Police looking for driver who threw dog out of moving vehicle

MT. CLEMENS, Mich. – Macomb County investigators are looking for the person who allegedly threw a dog from a moving vehicle.

The incident happened March 1st on northbound Gratiot Avenue in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

Witnesses called 911 after seeing the injured Shih-Tzu mix along the road, believing that it had been hit by a car. Macomb County Animal Control Officers determined that the dog had been thrown out the passenger-side window of a dark-colored, hatchback-style sedan.  The vehicle was in the center lane when the dog was ejected.

The dog suffered a broken pelvis in the incident.

Macomb Sheriff’s detectives checked surveillance cameras and found the vehicle had pulled into the Mt. Clemens Post Office at 155 S. Main.
