Beer lovers prepare snifters & tulips as Founders KBS week kicks off

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Monday is the first day in a week that beer lovers around the state of Michigan, the U.S., and even around the world look forward to on their calendars:  The annual release of Founders Brewing Company’s immensely popular KBS.

The world-renowned Kentucky Breakfast Stout is consistently among the highest-rated beers on many websites and polls.  It undergoes months of aging in bourbon barrels to develop rich, complex flavors to coincide with all the chocolate and coffee already contained within.

Tickets for the four-day bottle release March 8-12 at Founders sold out within minutes, so if you did not get yours, you will have to wait to try and find bottles when they hit stores through distribution later this month.

You may have better luck at any one of the many tappings at local bars & pubs starting Monday night.  HopCat will be the first to tap it, scheduled to fill snifters at 5:00 p.m.  Other tappings on Monday consist of Rockwell’s/Republic at 7:00 p.m. and Derby Station at 9:00 p.m.  Click here for a full list of scheduled tappings for KBS.
