GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A 17-year-old woman faces deportation after pleading ‘no contest’ to using skimming devices in area gas pumps.
Maria Sanchez-Figueredo was one of nine people accused of putting credit card skimmers in area gas pumps to to collect information from unsuspecting customers. The gang would then use the information to create fake credit cards and use them at area stores to buy store gift cards.
Sanchez-Figueredo was supposed to go on trial Monday, but instead she pleaded ‘no contest’ to one charge of ‘conducting a criminal enterprise.’
One of the penalties possible for Sanchez-Figueredo is deportation.
