KALAMAZOO, Mich – The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, working hand in hand with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, announcing the arrest of an attempted murder suspect who’d been on the run since Sunday night.
Victor Peery was ordered out of a Muncie, Indiana home and taken into custody without incident on Wednesday after surveillance teams spotted him in the area. Investigators say it was viewer tips and interviews conducted after a shooting on Sunday that helped lead to the arrest.
Peery is facing several charges, including assault with intent to murder after a shooting in the 700 block of Duke Lane. Police say he shot his 20-year-old girlfriend during a domestic dispute, then took off.
The girlfriend, who suffered gunshot wounds to her shoulder and arm, survived the shooting. She ran to a neighbor’s house for help shortly after it happened.
