110-year-old woman does live TV interview — but all she wants is a nap

CHENEY, Wash. — Flossie Dickey “celebrated” her 110th birthday on Thursday — but she didn’t seem too impressed.

The Washington woman was born on Feb. 18, 1906. She lived through two world wars, the Great Depression, watched men walk on the moon, and cheered as women earned the right to vote.

Flossie has been able to watch her great-great-great grandchildren grow up — but don’t ask her how many.

“My grandkids… they say there’s 15 them. I don’t know,” she told Good Day Spokane.

During her interview, she was asked if she was looking forward to her birthday party on Thursday afternoon.

“Not one bit,” she said.

If you are wondering what the secret to a long life is, she offered some advice.

“Don’t fight it. Live it,” she said.

According to her family, her favorite thing to do is to drink whisky “straight up.”
