GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Firefighters rescued a woman from a house fire that happened in Grand Rapids early Tuesday morning.

The call came in at around 4:00 a.m. for a possible fire on Horton Ave SE.  The caller told dispatchers that the person on the other end of a phone call stopped talking, and smoke alarms were sounding in the background.

When crews arrived, they entered the home and found a woman on the floor, unconscious.  They were able to take her outside and perform CPR.  By the time the ambulance arrived, she had regained consciousness.  She is expected to be okay.

Investigators say the fire started in the kitchen area, but it is not clear what caused it.
