MASON COUNTY, Mich. — A 13-year-old from South Carolina is charged in connection with the Jan. 19 bomb threat at Covenant Christian School.
According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department, a bomb threat was emailed to the school’s staff shortly after 12 p.m. Jan. 19.
Students at the school were evacuated and a Michigan State Police dog was called in during the threat, according to a release. Nothing related to the threat was found during a search of the school.
Investigators seized computers, phones and tablets after the threat and eventually traced the message to a teen in Mount Pleasant, S.C., according to a release.
The teen will face felony charges in South Carolina related to the threat, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department.
